St Vincent de Paul Society and the special works Program VoRTCS, wish to extend thier support and empathy to all families and Queensland communittees affected by the Queensland Floods.
Due to current St Vincent de Paul activities assisting in the Flood Appeal through resource, material and monetary assistance to those affected, normal running of the Program is currently suspended. St Vincent de Paul HQ is located in the flood area of South Brisbane, resulting in electricity shortage, no internet and email access as well as several surrounding streets indefinitely closed.
As such all interviews schedualled for the next week in relation to the Jan/Feb 2011 Training Intake, are cancelled until furter notice. All Vinnies and VoRTCS staff are working hard to meet the needs of flood affected families and communittees. We apologise for any inconvenience to our eager volunteers wishing to continue with their schedualled interviews, however at the moment we feel its extremely important to commit ourselves to the flood appeal.
To those volunteers and refugee families part of our Program and Society affected by the flood, we urge you to contact the St Vincent de Paul Helpline which can assist you in food, material and monetary donations. Please call 3010 1096 to talk to one of our lovely staff members.
