WE NEED TUTORS!

Currently we require tutors for Brisbane including some who are able to tutor in the suburbs listed below.

North: Chermside, Zillmere, Bracken Ridge
South West: Inala, Acacia Ridge, Sunnybank, Coopers Plains, Eight Mile Plains.
West: Ipswich, Collingwood Park, Goodna.
South: Logan, Woodridge, Beenleigh, including suburbs such as Crestmead, Marsden, Slack's Creek, Kingston and Waterford.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor or would like to know more about what we do, you can find out more about the refugee tutoring program here.

We hold Intake nights every 8 weeks for new tutors. To become a tutor, you will need to attend three compulsory training sessions: Intake Sessions 1, 2 and 3. Visit the Upcoming Events page to find details of the next training and to register.

What are the next steps?
Once you have attended tje compulsory Intake Sessions and once you have received your blue card, you are ready to start tutoring.  The Getting Started section of our website will outline what the next steps are and tell you what you need to know to begin tutoring.

Your blue card will be posted to the address you listed on your blue card application form.  VoRTCS will also be notified by the Commission so you will not need to notify us.

When we have this information, we will contact you by email to match you into a tutoring group.  You will be provided with the email address of the other group members and asked to contact them to ensure that you are happy with the grouping and are able to tutor on the same days. It's a good idea to meet with your proposed tutoring partner(s) and confirm that your grouping will work. Of course, if you have already nominated someone to tutor with, this step will not be needed.

If this grouping is confirmed by you to VoRTCS, we will then email you with the details of your refugee family, the contact details of the referrer who will introduce you to the family, and details of how to get started. Alternatively, we can look for another tutor grouping which will work.

If you have questions at any time during this process, please contact the VoRTCS team on
